HOW STOCKS HAVE PERFORMED 400 DAYS INTO TRUMP'S SECOND TERM
The stock market during U.S. President Donald Trump's second term has been marked by massive swings as investors react to the Republican's push to overhaul U.S. relationships with its global trade partners.
Ahead of Trump's State of the Union address scheduled for later on Tuesday, here is a look at how the maket has performed.
Despite a steep selloff in April last year in reaction to Trump's "Liberation Day" tariff announcements, the S&P 50 .SPX has performed relatively well 400 days into his second term.
Even though the S&P 500 has barely increased in 2026, it has gained about 13% since Trump's second-term inauguration in January 2025. That is below the 20% return in the S&P 500 at the same point in Trump's first term, but above the 11% gain at the same point in President Joe Biden's term.
