HKMA to issue first stablecoin licenses in March

HONG KONG, Feb 2(Reuters) - Hong Kong Monetary Authority's review for stablecoin issuer license applications is nearly finished, and the regulator will strive to issue the first batch of stablecoin issuer licenses in March, Chief Executive Eddie Yue said on Monday.

Speaking at a Legislative Council meeting, he said the initial target is to issue a "very small number" of licenses.
