POLITICS
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Friday Rome's willingness to cooperate with the United States remains firm.
During a news conference in Rome following a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Meloni added she had asked U.S. President Donald Trump to amend the terms of his Board of Peace in order to resolve constitutional issues that have prevented Italy from joining it.
DEBT
The Treasury said on Friday it would sell 7.5 billion euros in 6-month bills at an auction on Jan 28.
On Monday, it announces the sale of BTP and CCTeu bonds, with relative amounts to be auctioned on January 29.

Italy's biggest bank and the construction group on Saturday denied reports of talks on a possible sale to Intesa of Caltagirone's stake in Generali. An Intesa spokesperson said the Feb. 1 board meeting will examine 2024 results and the 2026‑29 plan, calling "any other speculation unfounded." Caltagirone said the report was "groundless" as there had been no contact with Intesa on the matter.
TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
The telecoms group is in talks with fibre network operator Open Fiber to activate 200,000 new high-speed fibre lines, aiming to double its reach to 400,000 lines by mid-2028, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Saturday. The move is part of plans to expand the companies' existing commercial partnership, the newspaper added.
STELLANTIS STLA.MI
India plans to slash tariffs on cars imported from the European Union to 40% from as high as 110%, sources said, in the biggest opening yet of the country's vast market as the two sides close in on a free trade pact that could come as early as Tuesday.
Rating agency Morningstar DBRS said on Friday it had cut the automaker's rating to 'BBB' from 'BBB (high)'.

Some board members have begun examining possible antitrust implications of Crédit Agricole's CAGR.PA stake in the lender, La Stampa reported on Saturday, adding that Italy's competition watchdog AGCM is also looking into the risks of banking concentration to should the French bank increase its holding to just below 30%.

The tyre maker's investor Camfin said on Friday it would not renew its shareholder pact with China's Sinochem 600500.SS, confirming what sources had told Reuters earlier this month.

The bank's board will decide on Wednesday whether to approve new rules that exclude CEO Luigi Lovaglio from selecting new board candidates in light of the criminal probe into the Mediobanca takeover, which hurt his chances of securing a fresh mandate in April, La Stampa reported on Saturday.

The Italian truck-maker cut on Friday its industrial free cash flow estimate for 2025 to 60 million euros ($70.65 million), compared to previous guidance of between 250-350 million euros.

The Italian diagnostics group said on Friday it had appointed Alberto Donati as group CFO. He will assume the new role on April 1.

The Italian utility said on Friday rating agency S&P Global had raised its rating to 'BBB+' from 'BBB'.

Holding company Smart Capital and its unit Smart4Tech, along with crowdfunding platforms CrowFundMe and WeAreStarting have signed a binding agreement to merge into a new firm focused on advisory services and fundraising for small and medium-sized enterprises with a technological emphasis.
The new company will be listed, the companies said in a joint statement on Monday, adding they aim to finalise the deal by first half of the year.
