
Jan 16 (Reutes) - Canada's main stock index was little changed at the open on Friday, as gains in the energy sector offset weakness in mining shares, while Canada and China struck an initial trade deal that will slash tariffs on electric vehicles and canola.
At 09:36 a.m. ET, the S&P/TSX Composite Index .GSPTSE was up 0.03% at 33,052.81 points.
