
Jan 12 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Monday, lifted by gains in gold prices after a Trump administration probe into U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell sparked concerns over the central bank's independence and boosted safe-haven demand.
At 09:31 a.m. ET, the S&P/TSX Composite index .GSPTSE was up 0.2% at 32677.56 points.
