- Canada's main stock index opened higher on Thursday after a softer-than-expected U.S. inflation print strengthened market expectations for interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.

At 9:30 a.m. ET, Toronto's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 0.4% at 31,382.60 points.
