US SMALL CAPS' EARNINGS GROWTH UP SHARPLY FOR Q3 - LSEG
Earnings gains for the Russell 2000 small-cap companies .RUT are up sharply this year from a year ago, with third-quarter growth now estimated at 62.7%, according to the latest LSEG data.
The latest year-over-year Russell 2000 third-quarter growth estimate, based on results from 1,720 companies, is up from an estimate of 43.4% growth at the start of October.
With year-over-year earnings gains for the Russell 2000 of 71.7% in the second quarter and 9.9% in the first quarter of this year, Russell 2000 companies are on track for overall growth of 41.5% in 2025.
Market watchers are expecting strong growth for small-caps next year as well. Analysts now estimate earnings growth for the Russell 2000 in 2026 of 43.8%, according to LSEG.
