ECONOMY
The commissioners of Italy's former ILVA steel plants will launch a 5-billion-euro ($5.83 billion) damages claim against ArcelorMittal MT.LU, Industry Minister Adolfo Urso said on Wednesday, as the government seeks a new buyer for the steelmaker.
Treasury announces the sale of 12-month BOT bills, with relative amounts to be auctioned on Dec. 10.

Italian police on Wednesday visited the headquarters of 13 high-end fashion firms, asking them to hand over documents on governance and supply-chain controls as part of an investigation into alleged worker abuse at fashion subcontractors, judicial documents showed.
The brands that received document production orders are Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Prada 1913.F, Adidas Italy ADSGn.DE, Off-White Operating, Missoni, Ferragamo SFER.MI, Givenchy Italia, Alexander McQueen Italia, Kering's PRTP.PA Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent Manifatture , Cris Conf. (Pinko) and Coccinelle.

Commenting on the scrapped acquisition of a 25% stake in Germany's Open Grid Europe (OGE) due to opposition from Berlin, the Italian gas grid operator's CEO Agostino Scornajenchi told Il Messaggero's Molto Economia supplement that the group is working on a new business plan and that he has many ideas on how to use the 1 billion euros that were not spent on the OGE.
The Italian gas grid operator is looking to boost its regasification assets in Italy and is assessing projects for new liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals in southern Italy, in particular in the cities of Gioia Tauro and Taranto, Scornajenchi added.

The low-carbon unit of the Italian energy group has agreed to buy some of the businesses of regional utility ACEA in a deal worth 587 million euros ($685 million), the two companies said on Wednesday.

The Italian carmaker said on Wednesday it has signed a 350-million-euro ($408.45 million) new syndicated revolving credit facility intended for general corporate and working capital purposes.

The Italian shipbuilder signed on Wednesday a partnership agreement with Bahrain-based Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard (ASRI) aimed at collaboration in the shipbuilding sector.

The Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will join Italy's blue-chip stock index, FTSE MIB .FTMIB, and Interpump would be excluded, FTSE Russel said on Wednesday adding that the decisions would become effective after the close of business on December 19.
