Futures are pointing to modest gains at the index level for European stocks on Thursday, but the focus will be on how investors in the chip supply chain process Nvidia's mixed, by its standards, earnings, which sent its shares down in out of hours trading.
In Asia, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company 2330.TW tumbled 2.5%, while Samsung Electronics 005930.KS slipped 1%, but Nvidia's Chinese competitors, SMIC 0981.HK and Cambricon 688256.SH surged.
But in early trading on the Tradegate platform, ASML ASME.TG ASML.AS shares were down 0.5%.
In the bigger picture, Euro Stoxx 50 futures were up 0.3%, STXEc1 with FTSE futures FFIc1 up 0.1%.
There are a few earnings out there too. Pernod Ricard PERP.PA reported a 3% fall in full-year 2025 organic sales which met forecasts, but warned of lower first quarter revenues amid tariff uncertainty and sliding sales in the United States and China.German online takeaway food company Delivery Hero DHER.DE reported slightly better-than-expected revenue growth for the second quarter.
