BEFORE THE BELL: EUROPEAN FUTURES UP, EARNINGS IN FOCUS

European shares were set for a positive start on Tuesday with trade talks staying in the spotlight just as the reporting season kicks off, likely shedding more light on how tariff uncertainty is affecting corporate decision-making.

Data from China, meanwhile, showed economic growth slowed less than expected in Q2, to 5.2%, though analysts warn that weak domestic demand and global trade risks will ramp up pressure on Beijing to roll out more stimulus.

EuroSTOXX50, DAX and FTSE futures were up 0.1-0.3%.

U.S. futures also rose slightly ahead of earnings from big Wall St banks such as JPMorgan JPM.N and Citigroup C.N later on, and after Nvidia NVDA.O said it plans to resume sales of its H20 artificial intelligence chip to China.

Nvidia shares added 3% in early Frankfurt trading.

Turning to corporate Europe, telecoms equipment maker Ericsson ERICb.ST beat Q2 earnings expectations, helped by sales growth in North America and cost cuts.

Orsted ORSTED.CO , the world's largest offshore wind developer, was also in focus after a Morgan Stanley upgrade.

In the UK, discount retailer B&M BMEB.L reported higher revenue, buoyed by warmer weather and Easter-related demand.
