- Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 40.1510 against the U.S. dollar at 0439 GMT, little changed from Thursday's close of 40.10.

The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.61% higher at 10,331.31 points on Thursday.

GLOBAL MARKETS

U.S. and European stock futures dipped in Asia on Friday after President Donald Trump stepped up tariff threats against Europe and Canada, restraining an early rally in regional share markets.

PKK DISARMAMENT

A group of militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) is expected to begin handing in their weapons in the northern Iraqi city of Suleymaniyah, marking the first step of disarmament as part of a peace process with Turkey.

FOREIGN MINISTER

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend a trilateral meeting between Malaysia, Turkey, and the ASEAN Secretariat on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

VICE PRESIDENT

Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend a meeting of an economic forum between Turkey and the breakaway Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Nicosia.

PARLIAMENT SPEAKER

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will attend the opening of a Srebrenica memorial museum in Bosnia and attend a memorial ceremony there.

OPPOSITION

Ozgur Ozel, head of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will visit his party's provincial headquarters and the municipality in the southern resort of Antalya, as well as the jailed mayor of the province. Musavat Dervisoglu, leader of the opposition IYI Party, will visit jailed Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and jailed journalist Fatih Altayli in prison. (0600 GMT)

LEGAL CRACKDOWN ON OPPOSITION
