POLITICS
Italy is set to unveil a support scheme worth 300 million euros for small and medium enterprises involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said on Wednesday. The measure will be presented at the recovery and reconstruction conference taking place in Rome on July 10-11, the minister said.
(*) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Wednesday he had held a "substantive" conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump's Ukraine envoy, Keith Kellogg, in Rome shortly after Trump pledged to send more defensive weapons to Kyiv.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases May industrial output data (0800 GMT) and bulletin on the state of the economy in May and June (0900 GMT).
(*) U.S. President Donald Trump launched his global tariff assault into overdrive on Wednesday, announcing a new 50% tariff on U.S. copper imports and a 50% duty on goods from Brazil, both to start on August 1.

Italy's second-biggest bank met renewed German opposition on Wednesday to its takeover ambitions for Commerzbank CBKG.DE after it doubled its voting stake in the rival, pending an Italian court ruling on its bid for domestic target Banco BPM BAMI.MI.
BPER EMII.MI, BANCA POP SONDRIO BPSI.MI
Shareholders in Banca Popolare di Sondrio, holding a 26.8% stake, have tendered their shares to BPER's bid, with two days remaining before the end of the acceptance period, Borsa Italiana said on Wednesday.
BPER's revised offer for Popolare di Sondrio was a positive development but shareholders in the target bank had expected a greater increase in the bid price, Chief Executive Mario Alberto Pedranzini was quoted as saying by financial newspaper MF.
CREDEM EMBI.MI
The Italian bank appointed on Wednesday Stefano Morellini as general manager.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
The car maker will start producing its new Fiat Grande Panda model in its Orano plant, in Algeria, starting from December, MF reported on Thursday, adding a no comment from the company. The car is being produced, since the beginning of this year, in the group's site in Serbia.

The defence group is expected to send to Ukraine five radar systems for air traffic control, Il Fatto Quotidiano reported on Thursday, adding that the donation will be announced at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on July 10-11.
During the two-day meeting, Leonardo and Italy's air traffic controller ENAV will sign an MoU with the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) for technical support and recovery of damaged infrastructure, the newspaper said.
M&A - FERRERO
The Italian candy maker behind Rocher chocolates and Nutella is nearing a deal to buy cereal maker WK Kellogg KLG.N, a source told Reuters, an acquisition that would combine two of the world's best known consumer food makers.
NEWPRINCES NWLF.MI
The Italian food and beverage group signed on Wednesday a binding agreement with packaged food maker Kraft Heinz KHC.O to buy the Plasmon, Nipiol, BiAglut, Aproten and Dieterba brands as well as a Plasmon production plant in Latina. The enterprise value of the transaction, which is expected to be completed by the second half of 2025, is 120 million euros, the company said.
