EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: FUTURES FLAT, FTSE PLAYS CATCH UP
Most major European index futures are flat on Tuesday as investors take stock after rallying the day before following U.S. President Trump's U-turn on tariffs on the EU.
Euro STOXX 50 futures STXEc1 are down less than 0.1% after the index jumped 1.3% on Monday. Futures on the DAX FDXc1 and CAC FCEc1 are also little changed.
Futures on the FTSE 100 FFIc1 are playing catch up, up 0.9%, after British markets were closed on Monday for a public holiday.
A call between Trump and European Commission President von der Leyen prompted the tariff reversal, pushing the tariffs back to the original July 9 reprieve date. U.S. equity futures are signalling a higher open on Wall Street after the policy reversal.
In corporate news, Volvo Cars VOLCARb.ST said it will cut 3,000 jobs as part of a restructuring announced last month.
