STOXX 600 ADVANCES, HEADS FOR WEEKLY RISE
Europe's STOXX 600 index is advancing on Friday and heading for a weekly rise as easing trade tensions and resilient earnings offset worries about ballooning global debt.
The pan-European benchmark .STOXX is up 0.3% on Friday. It's up 0.5% on the week and heading for its sixth straight weekly gain.
Most major bourses are also inching higher on Friday.
The materials .SXPP and energy .SXEP sectors lead gainers, while insurance .SXIP lags. About two-thirds of the companies in the STOXX 600 are advancing, while a third are either flat or declining.
