Shares in European metals and mining stocks are down on Monday as investors retreat after U.S. President Donald Trump touted sweeping tariffs on Sunday

The pan-European basic resources index .SXPP was down 2.6% at 0833 GMT, to its lowest in six months

Copper prices in London hovered near a two-week low

Trump said that reciprocal tariffs he is set to announce this week will include all nations, not just a smaller group of 10 to 15 countries with the biggest trade imbalances

Metal miners Antofagasta ANTO.L, Rio Tinto RIO.L, Anglo American PLC AAL.L, Glencore GLEN.L fall between 2.8% and 3.2%, while chemicals company Syensqo SYENS.BR is down 3.9%
