Turkey - Factors To Watch on March 28

ANKARA, March 28 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 38.0150 against the U.S. dollar at 0433 GMT, little changed from its close of 38.01 on Thursday.

The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.38% lower at 9,612.84 points on Thursday.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian stocks fell with heavy selling in South Korea and Japan, while safe-haven gold hit a record high as the latest tariff salvo from U.S. President Donald Trump stoked investor worries of an all-out trade war.

ERDOGAN

President Tayyip Erdogan will attend an inauguration ceremony of a mosque that bears his name via videoconference (1200 GMT) and then a fast breaking dinner in Istanbul (1631 GMT).

JAILED ISTANBUL MAYOR

Turkish authorities detained a lawyer the jailed Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, an MP of the main opposition party, CHP, said on Friday.
