- Wall Street's main indexes opened lower on Thursday, as President Donald Trump's latest tariff gambit sent auto stocks into a tailspin, while investors sifted through a slew of economic indicators.

At 9:30 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI fell 110.22 points, or 0.26%, to 42,344.57, the S&P 500 .SPX lost 16.77 points, or 0.30%, to 5,695.16 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC lost 67.55 points, or 0.38%, to 17,831.47.
