Intuitive Machines slides after second sideways moon landing

ReutersMar 7, 2025 3:27 PM

Shares of space startup Intuitive Machines LUNR.O fall 18.7% at $9.14

LUNR's second moon lander, Athena, landed on its side, near the south pole of the moon on Thursday, similar to the company's first lunar landing attempt last year

"With the direction of the sun, the orientation of the solar panels, and extreme cold temperatures in the crater, Intuitive Machines does not expect Athena to recharge," the company said

LUNR stocks closed 20% lower on Thursday after more than doubling in the past 12 months
