The benchmark BSE Sensex .BSESN was up 1.12% to 78,048, while the broader NSE Nifty 50 .NSEI advanced 1.1% to 23,614, tracking gains in other Asian markets, after the U.S. paused its planned tariffs on Canada and Mexico, easing concerns over a potential worldwide trade war. .BO
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee INR=IN gave up most of its gains against the U.S. dollar and was up 0.07% at 87.12, after China said it will impose tariffs on U.S. goods in retaliation to U.S. President Donald Trump's levies. INR/
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond IN067934G=CC was quoted at 100.82 rupees, with the yield little changed at 6.6718%, as profit booking capped an earlier fall in yields. IN/
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate INR1YMIBROIS=CC was little changed at 6.32%, while the five-year swap rate INR5YMIBROIS=CC rose 1 basis point to 6.08%.
CALL MONEY:
India's overnight call money rate INROND= was at 6.25%, and the overnight TREPS rate INTREPTOT=TCCL was at 6.23%.
