The benchmark BSE Sensex .BSESN closed down 0.41% at 77,186.74, while the broader NSE Nifty 50 index .NSEI declined 0.52% to 23,361.05, tracking a global stocks selloff after U.S. President Donald Trump imposed sweeping tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, spurring concerns of a trade war. .BO

RUPEE:

The Indian rupee INR=IN dropped 0.67% to a record closing low of 87.1850 per U.S. dollar on fears of a global trade war. INR/

GOVERNMENT BONDS:

The benchmark 10-year bond IN067934G=CC was quoted at 100.8575 rupees, with the yield down 3 bps at 6.6665%, as optimism over expectations of a domestic rate cut aided sentiment. IN/

OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:

The one-year overnight index swap rate INR1YMIBROIS=CC inched down 1 bp at 6.32%, while the five-year swap rate INR5YMIBROIS=CC was unchanged at 6.08%.

CALL MONEY:

India's overnight call money rate INROND= was at 5.85% and the overnight TREPS rate INTREPTOT=TCCL was at 6%.
