The benchmark BSE Sensex .BSESN was down 0.25% to 76,328, while the broader NSE Nifty 50 .NSEI declined 0.33% to 23,129, tracking Asian peers after U.S. President Donald Trump said he would push for lower interest rates, while worries over moderation in domestic earnings capped gains. .BO

RUPEE:

The Indian rupee INR=IN rose 0.2% versus the U.S. dollar to, 86.29, tracking Asian peers after Trump says conversation with Chinese President last week was friendly and he thought he could reach a trade deal with China. INR/

GOVERNMENT BONDS:

The benchmark 10-year bond IN067934G=CC was quoted at 100.51 rupees, with the yield down 1 basis point at 6.7157% as strong investor demand has lifted sentiment. IN/

OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:

The one-year overnight index swap rate INR1YMIBROIS=CC was down 4 basis points at 6.37%, while the five-year swap rate INR5YMIBROIS=CC dropped 4 bps to 6.14%.

CALL MONEY:

India's overnight call money rate INROND= was at 6.65%, and the overnight TREPS rate INTREPTOT=TCCL was at 6.59%
