
Jan 22 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Wednesday, helped by materials shares, as investor sentiments were buoyed by strong U.S. corporate earnings despite uncertainty over trade tariffs.
At 9:31 a.m. ET (1431 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 0.24% at 25341.63.
