Shares of European wind energy stocks fall after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said on Tuesday he would attempt to ensure no wind turbines are built during his second term
Denmark's Oersted ORSTED.CO and Vestas VWS.CO are down about 5% and 4% respectively, with Germany's Siemens Energy ENR1n.DE falling close to 5% and Nordex NDXG.DE by about 3%
"To us it is unclear how Trump will be able to act on this given that wind is popular in large and important republican states," DNB Markets analyst Douglas Lindahl says
Sydbank's Jacob Pedersen also notes Trump's commentary regarding tariffs on Danish goods in his pursuit of Greenland, commenting on the moves of Vestas and Orsted
