Dec 31 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes opened higher in the final trading session of 2024, extending its bull rally from more than two years ago on signs of a post-pandemic economic resilience, hopes of lower borrowing costs and AI boost.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI rose 63.0 points, or 0.15%, at the open to 42,636.7. The S&P 500 .SPX rose 12.8 points, or 0.22%, at the open to 5,919.74, while the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC rose 64.6 points, or 0.33%, to 19,551.358 at the opening bell.
