STOXX 600 INCHES UP IN HOLIDAY THINNED TRADING, DELIVERY HERO FALLS
Most major European equity markets are up slightly on Friday in quiet trading after the Christmas break, while Delivery Hero is falling after Taiwan blocked the sale of its Foodpanda unit.
The pan-continental STOXX 600 .STOXX is up about 0.2%. The index is heading for its first positive week in three, trading higher by 0.5%.
France's CAC 40 .FCHI is up 0.3%. Germany's DAX is flat and Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE is down 0.1%.
Corporate news is thin.
In Germany, shares in Delivery Hero DHER.DE are down over 6% after Taiwan's antitrust regulator blocked the company's $950 million sale of its Foodpanda business to Uber, arguing it would decrease competition. Shares in the German food delivery company are at their lowest since August.
Elsewhere, Novo Nordisk NOVOb.CO shares are up 3%, recovering after last week's 20% slide when data from the trial of its weight-loss drug CagriSema disappointed lofty expectations.
