Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.88% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 3.08% or 2.20 points to trade at 73.58 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 2.53% or 11.70 points to end at 474.10 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 2.02% or 1.60 points to 80.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB), which lost 2.39% or 1.50 points to trade at 61.15 in late trade. Aedifica (EBR:AOO) declined 2.34% or 1.45 points to end at 60.60 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 2.05% or 0.50 points to 23.86.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 47 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.68% or 17.30 to $2,555.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.91% or 1.42 to hit $75.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.40% or 1.09 to trade at $78.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.28.
