Italian brake maker Brembo starts large-scale production of Sensify system
May 4 - Italian premium brake maker Brembo BRBI.MI on Monday said its intelligent braking platform Sensify was entering large-scale production to supply a leading global manufacturer.
Brembo said it had also recently signed other contracts with new customers for its Sensify system and expected to equip hundreds of thousands of vehicles a year with it.
The company first presented Sensify in 2021 as a pioneering braking system that can operate independently on each of a vehicle's four wheels.
It includes a system that uses data to adapt braking to personal driving styles and changing road conditions.
At that time, Brembo said it expected to start supplying the system to clients starting in 2024, adding that it would become a "standard feature," at least for premium platforms, by 2030.
Brembo on Monday did not disclose the names of the automakers that are adopting the Sensify system.
The group's clients include Tesla TSLA.O, Ferrari RACE.MI and Stellantis' STLAM.MI premium Maserati brand.
