Monolithic Power Systems forecasts quarterly revenue above estimates on AI demand
April 30 (Reuters) - Monolithic Power Systems MPWR.O forecast second-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates on Thursday, betting on strong demand for its power control tools from the build-out of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The company designs power management semiconductors that regulate voltage and improve energy efficiency in AI servers, data centers, automotive and industrial systems.
Monolithic Power Systems expects second-quarter revenue of $890 million to $910 million, above analysts' average estimate of $816.2 million, according to data compiled by LSEG.
The company said in the first quarter it achieved record quarterly revenue of $804.2 million, 26.1% higher from a year earlier.
Analysts expected first-quarter revenue of $781.3 million.
The company said its pipeline for automotive and enterprise data end-markets, including server, continued to accelerate as it secured multiple new projects across customers and regions.
The growing adoption of generative AI has helped drive demand for the hardware required to help run advanced data centers, helping providers such as Monolithic.
The company reported first-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $5.10, beating estimates of $4.90 per share.
