April 5 (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday he had arrived in Damascus for talks, amid his ongoing diplomatic efforts in the Middle East for security and economic cooperation in the wake of the Iran war.
It was Zelenskiy's first visit to Syria since diplomatic relations between the two countries were re-established late last year, following the December 2024 ouster of long-time strongman Bashar al-Assad.
