SAO PAULO, March 12 (Reuters) - Brazilian payments firm StoneCo STNE.O and a local union requested a labor court suspend for 20 working days a ruling that ordered the company to rehire about 370 employees, a court document seen by Reuters showed on Thursday.
StoneCo and the Sindpd-SP union said the period is going to be used for negotiations between the parties.
Earlier in the day, a labor court judge sided with the union, ordering StoneCo to rehire employees it had dismissed since Tuesday.
The Sindpd-SP union said StoneCo cut about 370 jobs, while the company —which has not confirmed the exact number— has called the move an "one-off adjustment" in its structure.
