BERLIN, March 12 (Reuters) - The head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is "gravely alarmed" by reports of a strike that hit displaced people in Beirut, leaving eight people dead and dozens injured, the organisation said on Thursday.
"Civilians and civilian objects must never be deliberately targeted; their places of shelter, and related infrastructure must never be the target of military hostilities," the IOM said in a statement citing Amy Pope.
It added that over 800,000 people had been displaced in Lebanon following large-scale evacuation orders and about 125,000 were currently living in government-run shelters.
