ICC prosecutors drop probe into U.S. sanctions on Venezuela

AMSTERDAM, March 12 (Reuters) - Prosecutors at the International Criminal Court said on Thursday they did not see a reasonable basis to believe crimes against humanity had been committed as a result of sanctions imposed by the U.S. on the country since 2014.

The prosecutors said in a statement that it would not open an investigation into the sanctions. A separate probe into possible crimes against humanity committed in Venezuela since 2014 was ongoing, they added.
