
March 3 (Reuters) - The U.S. military's Southern Command said on Tuesday that Ecuadorian and U.S. forces launched operations against what it said were designated terrorist organizations in Ecuador.
The Southern Command, which is the U.S. military's combatant command that encompasses 31 countries through South and Central America and the Caribbean, said that the action was meant to combat illicit drug trafficking, but did not provide more details in a statement on social media website X.
