Brazil court reinstates antitrust measure against Meta over WhatsApp Business

BRASILIA, March 3 (Reuters) - A Brazilian federal court ruled to reinstate a preventive measure by antitrust body CADE that had barred Meta META.O from restricting third-party artificial intelligence tools on WhatsApp Business, the regulator said on Tuesday.
The ruling overrules a January decision favorable to Meta that had suspended the preventive measure.
Meta declined to comment. The court did not immediatelly respond to a request for comment.
CADE has issued the preventive measure in January as it investigated alleged anticompetitive practices. The probe followed complaints from AI chatbot providers regarding new rules for the WhatsApp Business platform.
