- Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said his government was in touch with Norwegian businesses affected by the situation in and around the Strait of Hormuz in a statement on Saturday, after U.S.and Israeli forces attacked Iran.

The Strait is the conduit for 20% of global oil exports. Several tanker owners, oil majors and trading houses suspended crude oil, fuel and liquefied natural gas shipments via the Strait after the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran, and Tehran said it had closed navigation, trading sources said on Saturday.

"The Government has made sure that the Armed Forces are in continuous dialogue with Norwegian military personnel in the region," Stoere said, further advising against travel to several countries in the region.

"There is broad international agreement that Iran shall not acquire nuclear weapons, and Norway supports efforts to ensure this," the statement added.
