JOHANNESBURG, Feb 20 (Reuters) - The chief executive of South African grocery retailer SPAR SPPJ.J, Angelo Swartz, has resigned with effect from February 28 and will be replaced by finance chief Reeza Isaacs, the company announced on Friday.
Swartz has served the group for 19 years, including as group CEO since October 2023.
During his tenure, he led the business through a challenging period of operational stabilisation, portfolio simplification and balance sheet strengthening, SPAR said.
Swartz will remain available to the group over the next three months to support transition and assist in concluding strategic initiatives currently under way.
Swartz will be replaced by CFO Isaacs from March 1.
Current Chief Operating Officer Megan Pydigadu has been appointed CFO with effect from March 1.
