ReutersFeb 11, 2026 2:18 PM

- Kraft Heinz KHC.O on Wednesday halted plans to split into two, joining a small list of companies to backtrack on major corporate restructuring.

In September, it announced plans to split into two companies - one focused on groceries and the other on sauces and spreads.

Here are some major corporations that have called off plans to split:

PIRELLI

The board of Italian tyremaker Pirelli PIRC.MI said earlier this month it opposed any spinoff of its Cyber Tyre activities, in response to a plan put forward by Chinese shareholder Sinochem 600500.SS to settle a governance dispute.

DUPONT

In January 2025, industrial materials maker DuPont DD.N said it no longer intends to separate its water business into a publicly traded company, but would go ahead with the spinoff of its electronics business.

VIRGIN MEDIA O2

In July 2025, Telefonica's TEF.MC CEO Marc Murtra told Reuters that the plan to spin off joint venture Virgin Media O2's fixed network in Britain had been scrapped.

PROSIEBENSAT.1

In April 2024, a push by investor MFE-MediaForEurope MFEB.MI for German media group ProSiebenSat.1 PSMGn.DE to spin off its e-commerce and online dating ventures narrowly failed to get the requisite shareholder backing.

HSBC

In April 2024, after defeating a resolution from Hong Kong-based shareholders, HSBC HSBA.L Chairman Mark Tucker told the bank's shareholders in Hong Kong that a spinoff of its lucrative Asian business would not happen.

BAYER

In March 2024, Bayer BAYGn.DE said it would hold off on plans to break apart the group for up to three years so that the new CEO could focus on problems including debt and litigation.
