Rubio to travel to Germany, Slovakia and Hungary Feb 13-16, State Dept says
WASHINGTON, Feb 9 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Germany, Slovakia and Hungary on February 13-16 to attend the Munich Security Conference and hold bilateral talks with counterparts on a range of topics including energy and NATO commitments, the U.S. State Department said on Monday.
The top U.S. diplomat will be in Bratislava on February 15 and will then travel to Budapest on February 16.
"In Bratislava, Secretary Rubio will meet with key members of the Slovak government to advance shared regional security interests, strengthen bilateral cooperation on nuclear energy and energy diversification, and support Slovakia’s military modernization and NATO commitments," the Department said.
In Budapest, Rubio will meet with "key Hungarian officials to bolster Washington's shared bilateral and regional interests, including our commitment to peace processes to resolve global conflicts and to the U.S.-Hungary energy partnership."
