LONDON, Feb 5 - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and U.S. President Donald Trump agreed in a phone call on Thursday on the importance of a deal to secure the joint UK–U.S. base on Diego Garcia, saying it remains vital to shared security interests, a Downing Street spokesperson said.
Britain and United States will continue to work closely on the implementation of the Chagos air base deal, the spokesperson added.
Diego Garcia is the largest island of the Chagos Archipelago, which is a British overseas territory.
