China supports Iran's right to 'peaceful use of nuclear energy,' diplomat says

BEIJING, Feb 5 (Reuters) - China "supports Iran's legitimate right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy" and "opposes the threat of force and sanction pressure," Liu Bin, China's assistant foreign minister, told Iran's deputy foreign minister in Beijing on Thursday.

"China will ... continue to promote the proper resolution of Iranian nuclear issue," Liu said, according to a statement released by the Chinese ministry.
