WARSAW, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Appeasement is always a sign of weakness and Europe cannot afford to be weak, either against its enemies or allies, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday on the social media platform X, without naming any specific countries.
"Appeasement means no results, only humiliation. European assertiveness and self-confidence have become the need of the moment," he added.
Tusk's comments come amid a growing transatlantic dispute over Greenland's future after U.S. President Donald Trump stepped up his push to acquire the vast Arctic island from NATO ally Denmark and threatened to hike tariffs on key European countries that oppose his plan.
