Putin and Pezeshkian call for de-escalation in Iran in phone call, Kremlin says

MOSCOW, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian called for a swift de-escalation of tensions in Iran and the wider region in a phone call on Friday, the Kremlin said in a statement.
The two men confirmed their commitment to a 20-year strategic partnership agreement signed last year, which includes joint economic projects, it added.
