WASHINGTON, Jan 15 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump's new healthcare plan will not affect people with pre-existing conditions, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Thursday.
"Obviously, that's a continued conversation that the White House will have with Congress, but that's not the President's intention with the great healthcare plan," said Leavitt.
She was addressing a question on whether Trump's plan addresses health insurance coverage for people with pre-existing conditions the same way former President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act prohibited insurers from denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions or charging them more.
