MOSCOW, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that he was surprised by U.S. sanctions against Russian oil companies.
The United States last month imposed its toughest sanctions yet on Russia’s energy sector, targeting oil majors Lukoil LKOH.MM and Rosneft ROSN.MM.
Sanctions are destroying Russia's relations with the United States, Putin added.
