Erdogan says Turkey pleased with Gaza ceasefire deal, will monitor implementation

ANKARA, Oct 9 (Reuters) - President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday he was very pleased that Hamas-Israel negotiations had resulted in a Gaza ceasefire deal and that Turkey will closely monitor its strict implementation and continue to contribute to the process.
In a statement on X, Erdogan said he thanked U.S. President Donald Trump, "who demonstrated the necessary political will to encourage the Israeli government toward the ceasefire", as well as Qatar and Egypt.
