US sues Los Angeles sheriff for being too slow to process concealed carry licenses

Sept 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. government sued the Los Angeles County sheriff's department on Tuesday, accusing it of violating the U.S. Constitution by being far too slow to process concealed carry licenses.

In a complaint filed in Los Angeles federal court, the Department of Justice said the sheriff's department's "deliberate pattern of unconscionable delay" violated Californians' right under the Second Amendment to bear arms outside the home.
