Mexico proposes panel to address tariff tensions with China

MEXICO CITY, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Friday her country is proposing a panel to address the differences with China concerning the tariffs that her government has imposed.

Amid a trade war between China and the U.S., Mexico has proposed to raise tariffs on goods from countries with which it does not hold free trade deals across several sectors including automobiles - a major export from China to Mexico.

China has said it will safeguard its interests.
