BEIJING, Aug 22 (Reuters) - China's cabinet on Friday said it wants to boost consumer demand for sports by increasing the supply of sports products and enriching sports events, state broadcaster CCTV reported, citing a meeting chaired by Premier Li Qiang.
The meeting also studied a separate equipment upgrade and consumer product trade-in scheme, which forms part of China's plan to boost domestic demand.
It pledged to "firmly crack down on behaviours of subsidy defraudation," CCTV reported.
