OTTAWA, Aug 19 (Reuters) - Canada's employment department will investigate allegations of unpaid work by employees in the country's airlines sector over the next six to eight weeks, the government said on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu said that Employment and Social Development Canada, the department responsible for delivering social programs and services, will be leading the probe into claims of unpaid work in the airline sector. Hajdu first mentioned the probe on Monday.
The probe is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete, after which the report will be made public, Jennifer Kozelj, press secretary to Hajdu, said in a written response to Reuters.
