United Fire adds Spencer to board

Aug 19 - (The Insurer) - United Fire Group (UFG) has appointed Gilda Spencer as an independent class A director, effective August 15, expanding its board to 12 members.
In an announcement on Monday, UFG said Spencer will also serve on the insurer’s risk management and compensation and human capital committees.
Currently, Spencer is an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. From 2012 to 2021, she was senior vice president and deputy general counsel of dispute resolution services at Allstate.
She has previously held senior roles at Nationwide and served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Ohio.
